Description:

Professional Management, Inc. ("PMI") is a 3rd party medical billing company that has been serving the medical profession since 1968. We strive to achieve the highest quality of medical billing, coding, data submission and client services as evidenced by our accuracy, reliability, timeliness and validity. Currently, we have an opening in our Patient Relations Department for a CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE.

Job Function:

To promote favorable company-client relationships by providing the highest level of quality customer service to patients, providers, insurance carriers, and groups through prompt, accurate, and courteous resolution of telephone and written inquiries at a third party medical billing company.

Duties:

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Extensive telephone contact with patients, insurance carriers, and other parties.
2. Receives and responds to all customer inquiries and complaints that may pertain to all phases of operations including enrollment, membership, billing, claims' and claim denials.
3. Maintains accurate documentation regarding patient accounts & identifies the need for account adjustments.
4. Explains billing terms accurately in simple language so that customer can understand the explanation and how it applies to the particular question.
5. Responds promptly and completely to all written patient inquiries, attorney letters, and requests for additional information, etc., to obtain a final resolution to the problem.
6. Follows department procedures for clerical duties such as: client cut-off, insurance information updates, return mail, etc.
7. Takes note of recurring questions or problems that may be resolved or alleviated by changes in policy or procedures.
8. Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

1. 2 to 5 years strong medical billing experience.
2. 2 to 5 years customer service experience.
3. High school diploma or equivalency.
4. Working knowledge of ICD-9, CPT and HCPS coding and fundamentals of medical billing.
5. Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
6. Intermediate computer skills.
7. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
8. Detail oriented & able to handle a high volume of work at a constant pace.
9. Ability to proficiently read, write, speak and understand the English language.
